Brief: The study aims to analyze mobility challenges and plan for mobility options of pilgrims with an emphasis on Non-Motorised Transport for the Mahakal-Rudrasagar Integrated Development Area (MRIDA) and the Simhasth Area of Ujjain.

Brief: To enhance Ujjain’s experience through urban design strategies, spatial technologies and urban gamification integrating cultural heritage with app based navigation tools to create an immersive, accessible and legible city beyond Kumbh Mela.

Brief:  Study of traditional house/housing clusters and their architectural documentation, preparing inventory of materials and methods of construction, documentation and assessment of structural system, construction of 250 sq ft prototype structure.

Brief:  This study aims to demonstrate that livability assessments in India must be grounded in the socio-cultural, geographical, and economic characteristics of cities for Livability Indices to support the achievement of SDG-11 effectively — “Make cities inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable.”

Project Investigator:  Ar. Vishnu K Suresh

Brief:  This project seeks to document, analyze, and architecturally evaluate historic housing across select cities of Madhya Pradesh Bhopal, Ujjain, Sehore, Indore, and Chanderi with the aim of developing a design toolkit that supports the adaptive reuse of these houses as homestays. As interest grows in converting historic residences into tourist-oriented accommodations, there is an urgent need to balance economic viability with heritage conservation.

The toolkit will provide owner-friendly, visually engaging, and architecturally compliant design strategies that help retain authenticity while enabling sustainable reuse. By studying the diverse housing typologies shaped by the princely, religious, mercantile, and vernacular traditions of the selected cities, the project ensures the toolkit remains adaptable and representative of Madhya Pradesh’s cultural and architectural richness.

Project Investigator:  Prof. Vishakha Kawathekar

Brief:  Sustainable School Toolkit is an educational resource designed to integrate sustainability into school learning, campus management, and student engagement through a progressive framework of Educate, Inspire, Implement, Monitor, and Disseminate. Guided by the toolkit mascots, Hari and Neeli, it introduces four key themes: Water Management, Energy Management, Waste Management, and a Sustainable School Environment. Designed for Classes 1–12, the toolkit features age-appropriate activities, competitions, observations, and learning resources, along with a School Self-Assessment Rating Framework and a Roadmap for Continuous Sustainability Improvement, enabling schools to evaluate their performance and strengthen sustainable practices.

Brief:  The study aims to transform the Janmabhoomi - Dwarakadheesh core area in Mathura into a walkable and accessible core for pilgrims and local residents, supporting both mobility and ritual activities by evaluating the applicability of the Sacred Streets Toolkit.
