Digital Documentation for Heritage Structures and Urban Development Lab (DDHSUD)

About Lab

A state-of-the-art digital lab has been proposed for efficient documentation of buildings and urban areas. DDHSUD is an innovative multidisciplinary approach to preserve heritage, cultural landmarks, and planning urban growth. As cities grow and transform due to population increase, industrialization, and modern construction, safeguarding historic structures and ensuring sustainable urban development becomes increasingly important. DDHSUD combines advanced technologies, research, and urban planning principles to bridge the gap between cultural preservation and urban progress.

In the context of urban development, digital documentation serves as a critical tool for city planners and architects. It would allow quick and accurate diagnosis and assessment of historic structures, urban cores and cities. The data collected through digital research and documentation shall be further substantiated with knowledge and understanding of the issues and challenges from building level to urban level, for a comprehensive planning.

This diagnosis is crucial for preparing bylaws, heritage impact assessments, architectural guidelines, adaptive reuse, heritage and pilgrimage-driven tourism and managing mega events.
