Centre of Urban Planning for Capacity Building (CUPCB)
A Centre of Urban Planning for Capacity Building Centre (CUPCB) under the aegis of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA), Government of India’s AMRUT 2.0 scheme, has been established at the School of Planning and Architecture Bhopal for a period of two years (2024-25 & 2025-26). An MoU to that effect has already been entered to by SPA Bhopal with MoHUA on 20th September, 2024. The center aims to train and build the capacity of urban stakeholders like City Mayors, counselors, Municipal Commissioners, Executive officers, elected representatives, and professionals to achieve the objectives of the AMRUT 2.0 scheme.
Brief about LABs:
The Centre has also established two labs- Digital Documentation for Heritage Structures and Urban Development (DDHSUD) and Traditional Construction Systems Testing and Evaluation (TCSTE), integrating the Digital twin modeling in the labs.
